Madrid is the second-largest city in the European Union (EU), after Berlin, and its metropolitan area is the second-largest in the EU, after Paris. The municipality covers an area of 605.77 km2 (233.89 sq mi). Madrid lies on the River Manzanares in the central part of the Iberian Peninsula at about 660 m (2,170 ft) above mean sea level. The capital city of both Spain and the surrounding autonomous community of Madrid, it is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country.

Ya ha comenzado la rúa de la selección española, que recorrerá el centro de Madrid en un autobús descapotado para saludar a la afición. Miles de personas se amontonan en las calles de Princesa, Alberto Aguilera, Carranza, Sagasta, Génova, Goya y Serrano para celebrar con los futbolistas el triunfo de España en la final del Mundial. Y, por supuesto, hay una multitud en Cibeles, donde será la celebración. Los jugadores han aterrizado este lunes en torno a las 14.30 en el aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, donde entre 200 y 300 personas los esperaban con camisetas de España, banderas al cuello y teléfonos móviles. Esta tarde, han visitado la Zarzuela para una recepción con los reyes Felipe VI y Letizia, la princesa Leonor y la infanta Sofía. “Ha sido un triunfo épico”, ha celebrado el Rey. A qué hora es la celebración de España en Cibeles tras ganar el Mundial: recorrido, cortes de tráfico en Madrid y dónde ver gratis en televisión y online hoy
España lucirá una segunda estrella en la camiseta tras ganar el Mundial 2026 de México, Canadá y Estados Unidos. La selección completó una brillante participación en el torneo con el triunfo ante Argentina (1-0) en la noche del domingo 19 de julio en Nueva York. El combinado dirigido por Luis de la Fuente partía como una de las principales candidatas al título, también por su condición de vigente campeona de Europa. Sin embargo, el hecho de llegar a la cita con algunos jugadores en dificultades físicas, junto con el decepcionante 0-0 inaugural ante Cabo Verde, rebajaron la euforia desde el primer día. No obstante, la selección mostró su mejor versión en el cara o cruz. Un triunfo incontestable frente a Austria en dieciseisavos, dos victorias agónicas contra Portugal y Bélgica en octavos y cuartos, respectivamente y una exhibición de fútbol ante Francia en semis antes de la final ante Argentina resuelta con el gol de Ferran Torres en el minuto 106. Ahora, el siguiente paso es celebrarlo con la afición este lunes 20 de julio. España celebrará la conquista del Mundial con la afición en la plaza de Cibeles en un escenario habilitado a semejanza de lo ocurrido en el festejos de la Eurocopa de 2024. La selección ha aterrizado en Barajas sobre las 14:30 horas, una hora y media más tarde de lo previsto. Los actos comenzarán, por tanto, con retraso. A partir de las 17:30 , la selección española será recibida por la Familia Real en el Palacio de la Zarzuela. Más tarde, se dirigirán a la Moncloa. Para la afición, la celebración comienza a las 19.00 horas en el escenario instalado en Cibeles junto al Palacio de Comunicaciones con música, animación y espectáculos hasta que llegue la selección a eso de las 21.00 horas , según la hora estimada por la Federación. Según la previsión del Ayuntamiento de Madrid, la celebración congregará a más de 60.000 asistentes en el entorno de la plaza de Cibeles . La rúa recorrerá algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos de Madrid hasta concluir en la plaza de Cibeles, donde tendrá lugar el acto central de la celebración. La Federación ya ha detallado cómo va a ser el recorrido. La expedición iniciará a las 19.00 horas una multitudinaria rúa en autobús descubierto que atravesará algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos de la capital. Este será el itinerario : palacio de la Zarzuela – A-6 – Moncloa (inicio de la rúa) – C/Princesa – Alberto Aguilera – Carranza – Sagasta – Génova, en sentido contrario – C/Goya – C/Serrano – plaza de la Independencia – Puerta de Alcalá – Alfonso XII – C/Montalbán. La celebración de la selección en las calles de Madrid conlleva cortes de tráfico , desvío de líneas de autobuses y el cierre de algunas estaciones de Metro y Renfe. Fruto de los preparativos, desde la madrugada del sábado al domingo se procedió al cierre del tráfico de manera progresiva de la plaza de Cibeles, el paseo de Recoletos, el paseo del Prado entre la plaza de Neptuno y la plaza de Cibeles, con afección a la movilidad de la glorieta del Emperador Carlos V. También se verá afectada la calle Alcalá entre la plaza de Cibeles y la plaza de la Independencia y entre esta y la calle de Cedaceros. Se realizarán cortes, asimismo, en Gran Vía entre las calles Alcalá y Hortaleza, con afección a la movilidad en la plaza de España, Princesa y Ventura Rodríguez. El Ayuntamiento de Madrid recomienda a los ciudadanos que quieran desplazarse hasta la zona de la celebración la utilización del transporte público . Se prevé el refuerzo de las líneas de Metro 1, 2, 3 y 4 hasta el final de servicio. Hasta 25 líneas de autobús de la Empresa Municipal de Transportes (EMT) sufrirán desvíos con motivo de la celebración. La información se puede consultar en la siguiente página web . Medio millar de policías nacionales acompañarán a la comitiva junto a los 150 agentes de la Guardia Civil desplegados, que incluyen también la Agrupación de Tráfico. La celebración de España por el Mundial 2026 en Madrid podrá verse gratis en televisión a través de La 1 de TVE y en Teledeporte, así como online a través de la plataforma de RTVE Play. Quién canta hoy en Cibeles por la celebración del Mundial 2026 en Madrid: lista oficial de artistas confirmados
Tal y como sucediera hace dos años, cuando España se proclamó campeona de Europa, la Selección ha vuelto a elegir la plaza de Cibeles para ofrecer a toda la afición el título del Mundial. Un hito que ha generado una alegría en todo el país como pocas veces se recuerda. Quizás desde que se bordara la primera estrella en Sudáfrica hace ya más de tres lustros, todo el estado no se encontraba con este punto de unión. Así que la ocasión lo merece. El Mundial se volverá a celebrar con un fiesta impresionante que tendrá como lugar de ceremonias el centro de Madrid. Mientras el combinado nacional aterrizaba en suelo español, la capital se engalanaba para recibir esta tarde a sus héroes, a quienes les esperan muchas horas de show. Una recepción multitudinaria que para algunos será incluso más dura que la final contra Argentina finiquitada con el tanto de Ferran Torres en ese ya mágico minuto 106 de la prórroga. Los eventos programados para este lunes arrancarán con varios actos institucionales y saludos con varias autoridades. Después se recorrerán las calles de Madrid en una gran rúa que contará con cientos de miles de aficionados abarrotando las principales arterias de la capital. Y por último, el broche de oro. Un traca final que concluirá en el escenario que ya se ha montado junto al icónico Palacio de Cibeles. Allí tendrá lugar la gran fiesta de España donde la música se convertirá en la gran protagonista. Se espera que los jugadores y el propio Luis de la Fuente tomen el micrófono para agradecer el apoyo de la afición y para expresar las emociones que han sentido durante este Mundial y, sobre todo, desde que Vincic pitó el final del choque. Muchos esperan ya el discurso del técnico, pero también las palabras del capitán Rodri, de estrellas como Lamine Yamal o de grandes animadores de la fiesta como Marc Cucurella. Pero no solo habrá tiempo para los parlamentos públicos, sino también para las impresionantes actuaciones musicales que la Real Federación Española de Fútbol ha preparado en torno a la fiesta de los campeones. Poco a poco se han ido conociendo los nombres de algunos de los invitados especiales a la celebración. El inicio estaba previsto para las 18:00 horas de la tarde, aunque la RFEF ha informado de que el comienzo de la fiesta irá con un retraso estimado de una hora. La previa de la larga fiesta arrancará bajo la música de Barce, Álex Martini y DJ Pawly, quienes empezarán animando el día antes de que lleguen los jugadores, haciendo de los alrededores del Ayuntamiento de Madrid una gran discoteca. Dos de las actuaciones también confirmadas serán Arde Bogotá y Ana Mena. El grupo de Cartagena ya dio suerte a la Selección durante la pasada Eurocopa y por eso no han querido perderse esta fiesta. Por su parte, la malagueña, una de las grandes estrellas de la música hispana en la actualidad, será uno de los rostros más conocidos de este impresionante cartel. También formará parte de la celebración Lola Índigo. Y la 'Cadena SER' ha informado también que dos de las grandes sorpresas serán Viva Suecia y Aitana. 'Superestrella', la canción de la 'triunfita', ha sido el himno del equipo durante su estancia en Estados Unidos, sonando tras cada gol y tras cada victoria junto a otros temas como 'Despechá' de Rosalía o 'Graciosa', de Quevedo. Su labor será mantener caldeado el ambiente antes de la llegada del autobús descapotable en el que los jugadores de España realizarán la tradicional rúa. Su final está previsto entre las 21:00 y las 22:00 horas de la noche, cuando la música se alternará con esos discursos emotivos y, sin duda alguna, con los cánticos de una afición entregada bajo el himno de «¡campeones, campeones!». Se espera un día largo para los internacionales españoles que han llegado a Madrid poco antes de las 15:00 horas de la tarde, bajando ya copa en mano del Airbus A350 de Iberia que les ha traído desde Newark. La Selección será recibida por la Casa Real en el Palacio de la Zarzuela a partir de las 17:30 horas y, posteriormente, se desplazará hasta el Palacio de la Moncloa para encontrarse con los representantes del Gobierno. Después, entre las 19:00 y las 20:00 horas, comenzará esa esperada rúa por las calles de Madrid. Algunas de las zonas más importantes por las que pasará el autobús son Moncloa, calle Princesa, Génova, Goya y Serrano hasta atravesar la Puerta de Alcalá rumbo a Cibeles. El fin de fiesta está previsto cerca de las 23:00 horas en adelante.
