Madrid is the second-largest city in the European Union (EU), after Berlin, and its metropolitan area is the second-largest in the EU, after Paris. The municipality covers an area of 605.77 km2 (233.89 sq mi). Madrid lies on the River Manzanares in the central part of the Iberian Peninsula at about 660 m (2,170 ft) above mean sea level. The capital city of both Spain and the surrounding autonomous community of Madrid, it is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country.

También, que este aborda ”por completo todas” las “numerosas preocupaciones” de la Casa Blanca. Más allá del lenguaje triunfal, faltaron muchos detalles en ese primer post en Truth, en el que no quedó claro qué cambia con respecto al acuerdo sobre la isla ártica ya existente desde 1951 entre Washington y Copenhague. La Fiscalía investiga abusos y vejaciones en los centros de menores de Ceuta
A las ocho de la noche del miércoles, el campo de fútbol del barrio ceutí de El Príncipe enciende las luces para iluminar a los que aún apuran el partido. También a un pequeño círculo de chicas que habla junto a las gradas, apretadas, muy serias. De pronto, una joven rebasa la verja de entrada corriendo en dirección a ellas, llega llorando, tropezándose. Las otras salen a su encuentro y chillan: “Douae, ¿cómo te has escapado?”, se abrazan, se le unen en el llanto. Douae se ha fugado de uno de los centros de menores que el Gobierno ha habilitado en Ceuta para alojar a los menores no acompañados que cruzaron a finales de julio. Comunidades gobernadas por PP y Vox siguen acogiendo a menores migrantes que llegaron a Ceuta antes de la crisis
Al menos tres comunidades gobernadas por el PP y Vox —Castilla y León, Aragón y Extremadura— están acogiendo estos días, en medio de la crisis, a menores extranjeros no acompañados procedentes de Ceuta, aseguran a EL PAÍS fuentes de la administración ceutí. Lo hacen forzados por la solicitud del equipo del popular Juan Jesús Vivas y en aplicación de la obligación de la ley de extranjería en su artículo 5. Hasta ahora, todavía se trata de niños y adolescentes que habían entrado en la ciudad autónoma antes del cruce masivo del 30 y 31 de julio, porque la tramitación de los expedientes requiere de tiempo. Pero las mismas fuentes avanzan que algunos de los procesos que afectan a los llegados en la crisis están en marcha y siguen los mismos trámites, por lo que continuarán similares cauces en las próximas semanas. Concierto de Shakira en Madrid hoy: cuándo empieza, a qué hora abren las puertas del Estadio de Villaverde y cómo llegar
La espera ha terminado. Ocho años después de su último concierto en España, Shakira iniciaba este vierne su gira de conciertos en Madrid. Unos shows que quedarán grabados en la memoria de los fans de la artista colombiana. 12 son los conciertos que va a dar en la capital de España, y que constituye la residencia europea de la artista. Las fechas programadas son los días 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 y 27 de septiembre y 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 y 11 de octubre de 2026. Shakira regresa con 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran', la gira que en 2025 rompió el récord Guinness como la más taquillera de la historia. Se espera una asistencia de 57.000 personas en cada concierto, por lo que se superarán los 600.000 espectadores durante este mes. Los conciertos se celebran en el Estadio Shakira , un recinto temporal integrado en Iberdrola Music. Pero este recinto acoge además el 'Macondo Park' , un parque cultural con ocho pabellones dedicados a la música , la gastronomía y donde se podrán disfrutar de diferentes actividades. La residencia celebrará las raíces culturales compartidas y destacará a Madrid como escenario global. Durante esos días la ciudad acogerá conciertos, exposiciones, charlas, talleres, cine, gastronomía y literatura bajo el nombre Es Latina. La apertura estimada del recinto será a las 15:30. Mientras que a las 16:00 será el inicio de las actividades en los pabellones de Macondo Park. La apertura del Estadio Shakira será a las 18:30 y dos horas más tarde dará comienzo el concierto, previsto para las 20:30 horas. El show concluirá alrededor de las 23:00 horas. Y a las 00:15 finalizarán todas las actividades en los alrededores. No obstante, la organización explica que estos horarios están sujetos a posibles cambios. Aplican al primer fin de semana de la Residencia de Shakira (18, 19 y 20 de septiembre). Para el resto de conciertos los horarios serán similares y los comunicarán con antelación a los respectivos shows. Para llegar al Macondo Park, ubicado al sur del barrio de Villaverde Alto-Casco Histórico de Villaverde , hay diferentes alternativas en transporte público. Se puede llegar en línea 3 y 12 del Metro de Madrid, las estaciones más cercanas son Villaverde Alto (línea 3) y Los Espartales (línea 12). El horario de funcionamiento es el habitual, de 6:00 a 1:30 h. Pero a la salida del evento, entre las 00:00 y las 1:30 h, se reforzará el servicio de ambas líneas. Las estaciones de Villaverde Alto (líneas C4a, C4b y C5) y San Cristóbal Industrial (línea C3) son las opciones de Cercanías. El horario habitual de funcionamiento del servicio es de 5:30 a 23:45 h. También están disponible los autobuses interurbanos, con las líneas 428, 432, 441, 442, 443, 446, 447, 448, 450, 455, 461, 488, N805 y N807. En autobús se puede llegar en la línea 22 (Legazpi – Villaverde Alto), línea 79 (Legazpi – Villaverde Alto) y línea T41 (Villaverde Alto – Polígono Industrial de La Resina). Para regresar, la EMT ha activado un servicio de lanzaderas gratuitas entre Villaverde y la glorieta de Atocha , con una única parada intermedia en Legazpi. Los viajeros podrán acceder a la lanzadera en la Gran Vía de Villaverde, junto a la calle de San Jenaro (parada 5964). Se hará una parada en la glorieta de Legazpi (parada 1171) hasta llegar al intercambiador de Atocha (parada 5853). Todos los días de concierto, el servicio estará operativo entre las 23:00 y las 2:00, con una frecuencia de diez minutos entre las 23:00 y la 00:00, de entre siete y ocho minutos entre la medianoche y la 1:00 y de 15 minutos entre la 1:00 y las 2:00.

Retamar de la Huerta, el nuevo barrio de Alcorcón, avanza: 3.500 viviendas, 30 hectáreas de zonas verdes y siete kilómetros de carril bici
En España, las grandes promociones de vivienda se han convertido en una herramienta clave para ampliar el parque residencial disponible , hacer crecer las ciudades y dar respuesta a la dificultad de acceso a la vivienda, especialmente entre jóvenes y familias con rentas medias o bajas, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta en particular las de protección pública. El caso del proyecto de Retamar de la Huerta en Alcorcón puede encajar en este modelo: un desarrollo urbanístico de gran escala, que mezcla de vivienda libre y protegida , dotaciones y zonas verdes, que está impulsado con participación pública y privada. Este Plan Especial de Infraestructuras en Alcorcón, que ya se anunció en 2025, supone el mayor desarrollo residencial reciente de la ciudad madrileña y uno de los cuatro grandes nuevos barrios puestos en marcha en la Comunidad de Madrid. Tal como se indicó hace unos meses, el proyecto contempla la construcción de un barrio de lujo con 3502 viviendas en total , de las cuales 1123 son de protección pública. Desde 'Alcorcón Hoy' indican que sobre suelo municipal se levantarán 1.309 viviendas, de las que 1.054 serán protegidas y 255 libres, a las que se suman 224 viviendas públicas promovidas por el Gobierno de España. A esto se suma además la instauración de 30 hectáreas de zonas verdes, 7 kilómetros de carriles bici y hasta casi dos hectáreas de senderos, entre otros espacios, lo cual dota al proyecto de un carácter enfocado a la sostenibilidad, «que favorecen la calidad ambiental y el uso ciudadano del espacio público», indican desde el ayuntamiento. La construcción de Retamar de la Huerta ya está en marcha, concretamente desde noviembre de 2025, y la Junta de Compensación ya se sacaron al mercado las primeras parcelas residenciales , según informan desde el medio citado. Añaden que dentro de estas hay 17 parcelas en las que está permitida la construcción de unas 130 viviendas. Al consultar la web de Retamar, indican que las obras avanzan poco a poco, y se encuentran, a día de hoy, en el 4,40% progresado del total del proyecto, «comenzando con el movimiento de tierras, la explanación del terreno y el saneamiento ». Entre las futuras viviendas habrá tanto chalets con jardín como edificios de pisos de unas cuatro plantas, en las que se combinan modelos unifamiliares y colectivos. Según recoge Telemadrid, el Ayuntamiento de Alcorcón se ha marcado un plazo de cuatro años para completar la urbanización de los terrenos y los primeros vecinos podrían llegar en 2029. Cabe recordar que el desarrollo urbanístico de Retamar de la Huerta se ubica al noroeste de Alcorcón, junto al barrio de Campodón, limitando al sur con la carretera M-506 y al este con la M-50, a unos 25 minutos en coche del centro de Madrid , según la Junta de Compensación. La obra de Retamar de la Huerta no solo incluye la construcción de las viviendas, zonas verdes, parques y carriles bici o de senderos, ya que desde la web del proyecto se indica que también se realizará una mejora de los accesos y de la conexión de los habitantes de manera más rápida y cómoda. Esto se conseguirá con una nueva rotonda de Campodón y el soterramiento de la M-506 en el Acceso Sur , buscando eliminar atascos y mejorar la seguridad vial, incluyendo nuevas vías de servicio y ampliación de carriles. En el Acceso Este se hará una nueva glorieta en la Avenida San Martín de Valdeiglesias y una reorganización de las paradas de autobús para hacer el transporte público más eficiente. La conexión directa con la Avenida Ejército de Tierra busca impulsar el comercio y el desarrollo económico local, informan desde la citada página. Por otro lado, la pieza clave es un nuevo vial que une Retamar con la M-506 , que mejora la movilidad con el resto de la Comunidad de Madrid y simboliza el compromiso del proyecto con el progreso y la modernidad.
