General Information

Madrid is the capital and most populous city of Spain. It had a population of over 3.4 million in the city proper in 2025, and a metropolitan area population of approximately 6.8 million. Madrid is the second-largest city in the European Union (EU), after Berlin, and its metropolitan area is the second-largest in the EU, after Paris. The municipality covers an area of 605.77 km2 (233.89 sq mi). Madrid lies on the River Manzanares in the central part of the Iberian Peninsula at about 660 m (2,170 ft) above mean sea level. The capital city of both Spain and the surrounding autonomous community of Madrid, it is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country.

A Vicente del Bosque (Salamanca, 1950) nunca le ha dado un ataque de importancia, ni siquiera después de ser el seleccionador con el que España ganó el Mundial 2010 en Sudáfrica. Tampoco ahora, cuando la Roja disputará el domingo su segunda final de la Copa del Mundo contra Argentina, siente la necesidad de reivindicar su obra. Ha seguido el torneo con dedicación, sin llegar a ver todos los partidos, y ha tenido tiempo de cuidar de su campus de verano en Salamanca y en algunos pueblos cercanos. El incendio de Lozoyuela ha quedado controlado este sábado, después de arrasar más de 770 hectáreas en la Sierra Norte de la Comunidad de Madrid. Han sido dos días de intenso trabajo de los servicios de extinción, en los que no ha habido que lamentar desgracias personales. La colaboración de los vecinos permitió el mismo jueves, día en que se originó el incendio, detener al presunto autor de este siniestro, un pirómano reincidente de 52 años con antecedentes en Andalucía, que quedó en manos de la Guardia Civil. La presidenta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, ha agradecido al Rey su llamada la noche anterior para interesarse por la evolución del incendio, según ha comentado en las redes... Un muerto y dos menores heridos graves tras una reyerta entre bandas en Ciudad Lineal
Nueva noche sangrienta en la calle del Elfo de Ciudad Lineal. Eran las 23.22 horas cuando la Policía Nacional recibía un aviso a través del 091 en el que testigos alertaban de una reyerta en vía pública. Cuando llegaron los agentes al lugar se encontraron tres varones heridos por arma blanca. Un joven de 23 años ha fallecido y otros dos de 17 resultaron heridos como consecuencia de las heridas de arma blanca tras una pelea entre bandas rivales en el distrito madrileño de Ciudad Lineal .
