General Information

Madrid is the capital and most populous city of Spain. It had a population of over 3.4 million in the city proper in 2025, and a metropolitan area population of approximately 6.8 million. Madrid is the second-largest city in the European Union (EU), after Berlin, and its metropolitan area is the second-largest in the EU, after Paris. The municipality covers an area of 605.77 km2 (233.89 sq mi). Madrid lies on the River Manzanares in the central part of the Iberian Peninsula at about 660 m (2,170 ft) above mean sea level. The capital city of both Spain and the surrounding autonomous community of Madrid, it is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country.

La Audiencia Nacional pregunta a la Guardia Civil si tuvo alguna información que pudiese “alertar” de la entrada masiva en Ceuta
La entrada irregular de más de 70.000 personas en Ceuta desde Marruecos, producida fundamentalmente el pasado jueves, comienza a judicializarse. La Audiencia Nacional ha solicitado a la Guardia Civil que informe de si tuvo algún indicio o información, los días previos a la avalancha, que alertase de que esta se iba a producir. La investigación se inició a raíz de una denuncia del partido Iustitia Europa en la que pedía al tribunal que investigase los delitos “contra la seguridad del Estado, delitos contra la Nación, favorecimiento de la inmigración ilegal y tráfico de personas, organización criminal y omisión del deber de perseguir delitos”.Seguir leyendo

La jueza de la Audiencia Nacional María Tardón ha pedido a la Guardia Civil información sobre si en los días previos a la entrada masiva de inmigrantes en Ceuta había recibido algún aviso que “hubiese podido alertar” la situación. Ayer martes, el ministro del Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, aseguró que el Centro Nacional de Inteligencia (CNI) no llegó a recibir ninguna alerta previa. Mientras, Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano, delegado del Gobierno en Ceuta, ha explicado en una entrevista en la Cadena Ser que ahora mismo “la prioridad es que los menores salgan de la calle lo antes posible”. Pérez Triano ha criticado la negativa del PP a aceptar a estos menores en las comunidades que gobiernan. El vicepresidente primero del Gobierno y ministro de Economía, Carlos Cuerpo, ha confiado en no entrar en un conflicto judicial con el PP por una hipotética negativa de las comunidades populares a acoger menores inmigrantes procedentes de Ceuta, actitud que ha achacado al temor a romper sus pactos con Vox. Nadie mira al mar en la playa del Trampolín. En los escasos 140 metros de esta pequeña cala ceutí ya no se agolpan visitantes, ni turistas. Desde hace días es el refugio a sol abierto de los migrantes que permanecen en la ciudad, cuyo horizonte no es el Estrecho que se divisa al fondo del agua. Y tampoco el que está en la otra dirección, colina arriba, en el Centro de Estancia Temporal de Inmigrantes (CETI) donde no cabe nadie más. Un hangar a -5° para custodiar a los 77 fallecidos que dejó la avalancha de Ceuta
Una gran habitación diáfana a -5° es el espacio que han terminado ocupando los cuerpos de las 77 personas que perdieron la vida el jueves en la última entrada multitudinaria de migrantes desde Marruecos por el espigón fronterizo de Ceuta y cuyos cadáveres fueron recuperados en el lado español de la frontera. Un intenso olor invade el lugar, mantienen quienes han trabajado allí estos días. “Ni respirando con lentitud se alivia”, afirman. Conforme pasa el tiempo, el cerebro lo atenúa y pasa a segundo plano. La magnitud de esta tragedia, en la que el ansia por salir del agua hizo que muchas de las personas terminaran escalando sobre otras y hundiéndolas en el mar, activó el protocolo para grandes catástrofes con víctimas múltiples. El antiguo hospital militar de Ceuta, un complejo castrense con varios edificios, terminó convirtiéndose en una gran morgue en cuestión de horas. Y se creó un gabinete de crisis, formado por forenses del Instituto de Medicina Legal y agentes del Servicio de Criminalística y de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Ceuta, en el que también colaboraron militares.Seguir leyendo

Oleada de atracos a conductores de VTC por la mafia del hotel okupa de San Blas
El conocido como hotel okupa de Rejas , en la calle de Lola Flores, 3-5 (San Blas-Canillejas), sigue copando titulares. Según ha podido saber ABC, la Policía Nacional acaba de culminar una investigación de seis meses que ha terminado con una oleada de atracos con armas blancas, entre otros, a alrededor de una docena de conductores de VTC. El resultado de las pesquisas ha sido la detención de cinco varones, todos de origen peruano, y tres menores de edad de la misma nacionalidad.
